EU accuses Facebook parent company Meta of violating European user privacy and imposes sky-high fines




The European Union on Monday (May 22) issued a record 1.2 billion euro ($1.3 billion) fine for privacy violations against social media platform Facebook’s parent company Meta, and ordered the company to stop using European devices by October this year. User data is transferred to the United States. It’s the latest development in the decade-long online privacy case.
