Bihar: A woman police constable was murdered in Bihar’s Katihar district on Wednesday. Officials said the woman police constable was shot at while returning home. The incident took place on NH 81 near Bhatwara Panchayat Bhawan near Katihar district around 8 pm. The woman is a resident of Munger district.
Police seized two empty cartridges and mobile phones from the spot. According to eyewitnesses, a woman riding a bike was shot dead by unidentified persons on a motorcycle. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and shifted the woman to a nearby hospital for post-mortem.

“We are still in the preliminary stages of the investigation. Katihar SP Jitendra Kumar said that we will conduct an inquiry. Senior officials said that forensic teams along with dog squad have reached the spot and collected the details of the case. Raids are being conducted to nab the accused. A team of Special Task Force (STF) has also been sent to Katihar, the official said.
The deceased, Prabhakumari, a female constable, was staying with her parents in Bhatwara village. Meanwhile, Prabhakumari had a love affair with a man alias Arshad. However, Prabhakumari has been keeping Arshad away for the past few days. He got angry and started threatening to kill her. Prabha Kumari’s family members have alleged that he made several phone calls and made threats to this extent. It is in this background that Prabha Kumari was murdered by the family members.
Meanwhile, police said two people were found dead in an apartment building in West Delhi’s Kirti Nagar area on Thursday afternoon. The police received information about the incident which took place at 3.31 pm on the second floor of a building in Ramesh Nagar.
When they reached the scene, they found a man hanging from a ceiling fan and a woman lying dead and dismembered on a bed. To this extent, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Ghanshyam Bansal said.
The deceased have been identified as Vijay Kumar (28) and Anchal (25). Police said that both of them are residents of Patel Nagar and Anand Parbat area.. Both of them have known each other for many years. Kumar is a gym trainer. Meanwhile, Anchal is studying in Canada. Bansal said that crime and forensic teams have been called to the spot as part of the investigation into the murders.
It was primarily registered as a case of murder at the Kirtinagar police station. Police said they will analyze CCTV footage, details of call records and autopsy reports. However, no injury marks were found on the woman’s body. The police are expecting that the exact cause of death will be known in the post-mortem report.
The bodies were shifted to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital for postmortem and the postmortem will be conducted on Friday. Kumar is alone at home. The woman came to Delhi in January. But her family members do not know that she has come. Did they get married in court? The police said that it is to be known.
