Air India has become the largest airline with the highest number of women pilots. India is also at the top in terms of women pilots. Tata Group-owned Air India, Air India Express and AirAsia India are flying more than 90 flights with all-female crews on International Women’s Day.

On the occasion of Women’s Day, Air India honored women in a special way. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, many organizations in the country honored women workers and saluted their spirit. Air India on Wednesday said that 15 per cent of its 1,825 pilots are women, in a fresh move for the aviation sector. This has made it the largest airline in terms of female pilots. Tata Group-owned Air India, Air India Express and AirAsia India have announced that they will fly 90 flights with an all-female crew on International Women’s Day.
Out of a total of 1,825 pilots on Air India’s domestic and international routes, 275 are women. Also 15 percent of the total staff are women. Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson said India has the largest number of professional women pilots in the world. He said that Air India is proud of the women employees working with them. We thank everyone for spreading the message that women can excel in any field.
Air India last week announced the hiring of 6,500 new pilots. It is said that a package of one crore rupees will be given to each pilot. Women will also be given opportunities in this. Air India has ordered 470 aircraft from Boeing, Airbus. The company is recruiting for various posts to operate these flights. Currently the company has around 140 aircraft. According to a media report, Air India is looking for a ‘B777 Captain’. For this Rs. A salary package of up to 2 crores can be offered. The company is hiring executives from high-end B737 NG/MAX type-rated pilots for the B777 fleet. It pays them 21,000 dollars per month which is Rs.17,39,118. On an annual basis, about Rs. 2,08,69,416 is ready to pay.
Also Air India has placed orders for a total of 840 aircraft to expand its operations. There is a possibility to purchase 370 aircraft. This is the largest aircraft order by an airline. Currently, Air India has around 1,600 pilots to operate its 113 flights.
