A fatal road accident took place in Tiruchi district of Tamil Nadu. Six people died when a car hit a lorry. The dead included a nine-year-old child, four men and a woman. The police said that nine people were traveling in the car at the time of the accident. Six of them died. The deceased have been identified as K Muthusamy, R Thirumurthy of Namakkal district, P Ananthai, G Dhavanasree, Santhosh Kumar and Murugesan of Salem district.
Details.. Nine people were traveling in a car from Salem district to the temple in Kumbakonam when the accident took place around 3:30 am. The driver Santhosh Kumar lost control of the vehicle and their car hit the lorry. In this accident, six people, including the car driver Santosh, died on the spot, while three others were injured. The injured were shifted to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Trichy. Trichy Superintendent of Police Sujith Kumar inspected the accident site and took up the investigation. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
After the incident, the traffic on the road was severely disrupted. The police removed the vehicles from the road and then cleared the traffic.
