The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has increased its speed in the Popular Front of India (PFI) case. In connection with this case, four PFI members who are currently in Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad were taken into custody by NIA officials on Saturday.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has increased its speed in the Popular Front of India (PFI) case. In connection with this case, four PFI members who are currently in Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad were taken into custody by NIA officials on Saturday. The officials detained Zahid, Samiuddin, Maz Hussain and Kaleem from Chanchalguda Central Jail.. The accused were taken to the NIA office in Madapur for questioning. It is known that the NIA registered a case against the accused last year.
Authorities arrested more than 20 PFI members from various parts of Telangana last year on charges of radicalizing Muslim youth and training them. The NIA said that the five PFI members are involved in activities like inciting, radicalising, recruiting Muslim youth and imparting weapons training in specially organized training camps. Sheikh Rahim, Sheikh Wahid Ali, Zafrullah Khan Pathan, Sheikh Riaz Ahmed, Abdul Waris have been charged under provisions of the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for criminal conspiracy, promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion.
Further, investigations conducted by various state police and national agencies have come to light that PFI has been involved in violent activities. In the wake of these developments, PFI and its affiliates were declared an illegal association by the Union Home Ministry in September 2022.
