Karnataka Assembly Election 2023: As the election time for the Karnataka Assembly is approaching, all the major parties in the state are campaigning hard. Politics are heating up with critical attacks like Nuvva Nena. However, the Congress party is slowly expressing that the victory in the upcoming elections is theirs. Congress, which is moving forward with strategic plans for victory, said that it will contest the elections alone and will announce the list of candidates this month itself. The Congress party will release the first list of candidates for the Karnataka assembly elections on March 20, party sources said. Also, state Congress chief DK Shivakumar made it clear that he will not form alliances with any party in the state.

After the Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting, the Congress has finalized candidates for 110 of the 224 seats in the Karnataka Assembly elections. The party will release the first list after 20th of this month. Congress circles said that they will give tickets to all the sitting MLAs except for four or five seats. After the CEC meeting, Karnataka Congress President DK Sivakumar replied to the question whether they will contest the election in alliance with SDPI and said that they are not in alliance with anyone. He made it clear that he will contest alone. “We came alone, we will fight alone and win. Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge and Rahul Gandhi attended the CEC meeting,” he said.

What else is DK Shivakumar?

He said that more than 1300 people have applied for the Congress ticket to contest the Karnataka Assembly elections and they are very serious contenders. DK Shivakumar said before the meeting on Friday (March 17) that they are unable to give tickets to all of them and there are only 224 candidates. It has been revealed that it has been decided to give opportunity to the youth and more women.

DK said that Rahul Gandhi will hold a huge rally in Belagavi, Karnataka on 20th of this month. Shivakumar said. Also, he said that the election campaign will be conducted with senior Congress leaders. Referring to the election promises, if they come to power, they will provide 200 units of free electricity per month to all families under ‘Griha Jyoti’ and Rs.2,000 per month to each family head under Griha Lakshmi. Apart from these, under ‘Anna Bhagya’, every member of the family living below the poverty line will be provided 10 kg of free rice per month, he said.
