Indian young athlete Akshdeep Singh won gold in the Asian Race Walking Championship held at Nomi in Japan. Akshdeep completed the 20 km race walking in 1:20:57 hours. Akshdeep won the 10th National Open Race Walking Championship at Ranchi (Jharkhand) last month. Thus he qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics as well as the World Championships. It is noteworthy that he is now the sole winner of the Asian Championship.

Along with Akshdeep, Indian athletes Vikas Singh and Paranjit Singh Bishat also excelled in the Asian Race Walking Championships held in Japan. So these two have qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics as well as the World Championship.

Priyanka Goswami won bronze in the women’s category. Priyanka completed the 20 km distance with 1:32:2. It is known that Priyanka also won the National Championships last month and qualified for the Paris Olympics. But Munita Prajapati, who participated in these competitions, could not qualify.
