Music icon Javed Akhtar’s comments in Pakistan referring to the Mumbai 26/11 attacks have gone viral on social media. He made these remarks when he went to Pakistan last week to participate in a festival held in Lahore in memory of famous Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. But Akhtar gave an interview to ‘NDTV’ in this regard. He said that his response got a good response from the audience even across the border.

“All those who attended the program clapped. They agreed with me. There are many people who admire India and want to be associated with us,” he said. When Akhtar was asked whether this is the right time to negotiate, he replied, ‘I am not at that level.’ He said that those in power and those in that position understand what is happening and how to proceed. He said that Pakistan army, Pakistan people and Pakistan administration are not on the same page.
When asked by ‘NDTV’ whether he believed mediation was necessary, he said, “The people who run the country know that very well. I have very little information. There is very little information about Pakistani people in India. They are in the same situation,” he said.

Akhtar’s answer to a question asked by an audience during his speech in Pakistan went viral. The spectator said.. “You have visited Pakistan many times. When you went back to India did you tell your people that Pakistani people are good people? Did they say that they will not only throw bombs, but also garland them and greet them with love?” he asked. Akhtar replied to this.. “Nobody needs to blame each other here. This will not solve anything,” he said.
“The atmosphere is tense. It should be cooled first. We are from Mumbai. We saw an attack on our city. They (the invaders) did not come from Norway or Egypt. They are still roaming freely in your country. So the anger of the Hindustanis has meaning. “You have no chance to complain in this matter,” he concluded.

Not only that, he expressed his displeasure that artists who came to Pakistan were not given proper hospitality. But India will not do that. He said that artists from Pakistan are highly respected. His comments were widely expressed on social media. Many netizens described his comments as a surgical strike. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut tweeted that Jai Hind Javed Saab..
