New Delhi: Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has announced that he will take up the responsibility of educating Deeksha, the seven-year-old daughter of Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma of Achen village in South Kashmir, who was killed by a terrorist belonging to the Kashmir Resistance Force (TRF).

Anupam Kher offers to sponsor education of Diksha: In recent times, there has been an increase in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. There is widespread concern over the attacks targeting Kashmiri Pandits in particular. In this sequence last Sunday, a Kashmiri Pandit named Sanjay Sharma was shot dead by terrorists. Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has announced that he will take up the responsibility of educating Deeksha, the seven-year-old daughter of Sanjay Sharma of Achen village in south Kashmir, who was killed by a terrorist belonging to the Kashmir Resistance Force (TRF).
A photo of Sanjay Sharma’s daughter Deeksha went viral on social media while the dead body of Sanjay Sharma was lying in the premises of his house, in the presence of a large number of Muslims and others. Many responded on social media platform saying that they will support Pandit’s family. Famous actor Anupam Kher has announced that he will take the responsibilities of Diksha Kadu in this order. Kher wrote to the Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora Organization that he would take full responsibility of educating the child. He said in a voice message sent to the institution, “I will take the responsibility of the girl’s education as far as she can study.”
Meanwhile, bank ATM guard Sanjay Sharma (45) was murdered on Sunday morning while walking home from the village market along with his wife. His family was one of the few Kashmiri Pandits living in the valley three decades ago when Hindus left the valley in the wake of violence and terrorism. Sanjay Sharma is survived by his wife and daughter Diksha and two other children. The Muslims of Jammu strongly condemned his murder. They have made it clear that they do not support terrorist activities.
Deeksha’s photo has moved many hearts on social media. As Deeksha’s photo went viral, comments were flooded in support of the victim’s family. Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora leader Surinder Kaul said he would contact the family and make an arrangement to extend his support to the Kher family.
