Army unveils 100 feet high national flag in Jammu and Kashmir. Army said that this flag has been unveiled as a tribute to the innumerable soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of the country.

New Delhi: A national flag has been hoisted at a height of 100 feet in Jammu and Kashmir. This flag was erected in the Chenab valley region where the threat of terrorism is high. About a decade ago, terrorism was completely eradicated here. This flag was installed in Doda district which is mostly hilly. Recently, this national flag was unveiled by the Indian Army. It is the second largest flag in the Chenab Valley region. In July last year, a 100-feet-high tricolor flag was hoisted in the nearby town of Kishtawar.
Army Delta Force Major General Ajay Kumar unfurled the Indian National Flag on the tallest flag pole at Doda Sports Stadium. Sector 9 Rashtriya Rifles Commander Brig Sameer K Pandey, Doda Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajanan and SSP Abdul Qayoum jointly unveiled the flag. Major General Ajay Kumar said that this national flag is being unveiled as a tribute to the immortal soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.

Families of soldiers who laid down their lives for the country were honored on this occasion. Along with them, representatives of the civil society who participated in the construction of the country were also honoured. The General Officer Commanding of the Army announced in a statement that this tall flag was unveiled as a tribute to the innumerable soldiers who laid down their lives to protect the unity and integrity of the country.
Officials said that this flag is fluttering at a height of 100 feet in a high area and this flag can be seen from a long distance. He explained that those who see this flag will feel love and pride for the country.
