Vijayawada: NTR District Jaggaiyapet Municipal Council’s emergency meeting turned into a rasabhasa. The TDP councilors expressed concern over the installation of idols in the town without the council’s permission. There was chaos in the House as the TDP councilors reached the front of the podium and sat down. It is not appropriate to put idols of leaders in the area taken for greenery development in the bus stand premises… They expressed strong objection to putting idols at night. Municipal Chairman Rangapuram Raghavendra has suspended the TDP councilors for a month. Even after the suspension, the TDP councilors continued to protest there without going out. The municipal chairman filed a police complaint. The police immediately reached the spot and arrested 13 councilors and took them to the police station.
