Bill Gates’ courtesy meeting with Union Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar, Rajiv reminisced about that time.


Union Electronics and IT Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar was given a courtesy call by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. On this occasion, there was a conversation between the two regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Bill Gates met MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar: Microsoft co-founder and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Chairman Bill Gates on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Union Electronics and IT Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar. On this occasion, there was a conversation regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the meeting between the two giants. Gates gifted the book to Union Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar with his signature.

This is Bill Gates’ first visit to India after the Covid-19 pandemic. On February 27, before his visit to India, Bill Gates specifically praised India for its handling of the Corona pandemic and for maintaining the economy in a robust manner. In the tweet, he said that like other countries, India also has limited resources but has shown us how the world can progress despite obstacles.

On this occasion, Rajeev Chandrasekhar recalled the old days spent in America. During the conversation between Gates and the Union Minister, Rajiv Chandrasekhar reminisced about the old days spent in the US. Before joining politics, Rajeev Chandrasekhar had a career spanning nearly three decades in the IT sector. In 1986, Rajiv completed a Masters program in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Chicago. Meanwhile, in the early days of Rajeev Chandra Shekhar’s career, the first offer came from Bill Gates’ company, Microsoft Corporation. At that time Microsoft was one of the leading US technology companies.

The Union Minister recalled his old days when he used to see Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Larry Elisen having fun in the cafeteria of the Intel company. Rajeev Chandrasekhar worked as a Senior Design Engineer at Intel Company. After coming to India, he founded BPL Mobile in 1994, the first mobile network operator in India.
