It is known that Indian cricket team’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who has been suffering from back pain for the past six months, recently went to New Zealand for an operation. According to the latest reports, it is known that the surgery performed on Bumrah in New Zealand was successful.
According to the information received in ESPN Cric Info.. Dr. Rowan Schouten, who previously performed surgery on former New Zealand pacer Shane Bond and England bowler Jofra Archer, also operated on Bumrah. BCCI sources said that Bumrah’s surgery was successful as expected.
A few days ago, when Bumrah was examined by medical experts at the National Cricket Academy, it was found that he still has a small injury in his back, due to which he is often away from the team due to injuries. BCCI felt that surgery is necessary. That’s why Bumrah was sent to New Zealand for emergency surgery.
Even if the surgery is successful, Bumrah is expected to take at least five to six months to recover. If everything goes well and Bumrah gets fit, there is a chance that he will be back with the team by the end of August or in September. BCCI hopes that Bumrah will return till this tournament in the background of Asia Cup in September. Even if Bumrah misses the Asia Cup, BCCI along with team India and fans want him to get fit till the ICC ODI World Cup to be held in October-November.
Bumrah, who was injured before the Asia Cup last August, played one match in the Australian tour in September. But he missed the T20 World Cup due to the injury again. It is known that he joined the team again in January but joined the NCA without playing a single match. Due to the injury, Bumrah has missed out on the IPL starting later this month as well as the WTC finals in June (if India qualifies). Mumbai Indians have taken Sandeep Sharma as Bumrah’s replacement in IPL.
