According to Hindustan Times, the incident took place at Panitakni area of ​​Silchar town on Saturday around 2.30 pm. Police shifted the child’s body to Silchar Medical College and Hospitals (SMCH). Doctors declared him dead on arrival. Cachar District Superintendent of Police (SP) Numal Mahatta said that there was a dispute between the members of a family regarding land and the situation worsened on Saturday. “The accused first tried to kill the mother but she escaped after sustaining severe injuries on her hand. The child is behind the mother. The assailant caught him and stabbed him from behind,’ he said.

He said that the accused was arrested on the basis of video evidence with the police. He said that this is a very unfortunate incident and the culprits will not be spared. He said that the main accused has been arrested and is being investigated. On this incident, the locals said that there was a land dispute between the victim’s family members for a long time and they had also committed attacks in the past.
