Common Recruitment Board Ragada: Pass that bill soon .. Akbaruddin Vinathi for Tamilisai


MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi appealed to Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to pass the Common Recruitment Board Bill. The bill has not been cleared and the filling of vacancies in universities has stopped. The Common Recruitment Board Bill is pending for 5 months. Akbaruddin asked the governor to pass the bill immediately.

Further, the Telangana Government has brought the Telangana State University Common Recruitment Board Bill to fill teaching and non-teaching posts in 15 universities of the state. The board will have a chairperson and four members. Ex-officio Chairman of the Council of Higher Education will also act as the Chairman of the Common Recruitment Board. Osmania, Kakatiya, Palamuru, Satavahana, Mahatma Gandhi, Telangana, Telangana Mahila University, Potti Sriramulu Telugu, Prof. Jayashankar Agriculture, Dr. BR Ambedkar Open, PV Narsimha Rao Veterinary, Konda Laxmanbapuji Horticulture, RGUKT, JNTU, JNAFAU Universities have been included in the board.

However, along with the University Common Recruitment Board Bill passed by the Telangana Assembly, some other bills are also pending with Governor Tamilisai. Telangana University Students’ Joint Action Committee has alleged that Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has put their future at risk by keeping the University Common Recruitment Board Bill pending. The leaders of the ruling BRS are also upset about this. The governor’s behavior is inappropriate and the bill is demanded to be passed immediately.

In this context, Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy met with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan in November last year and gave an explanation. Sabita Indra Reddy cleared her doubts. Tamilisai mentioned the issues of UGC norms and judicial reservations. Sabita Indra Reddy assured that they are following the rules.. there will be no problems.

Governor Tamilisai also countered the government’s arguments. He said that he has taken time to examine the bills comprehensively. Tamilisai commented that it was wrongly understood that he had stopped the bills. The governor made it clear that he is thoroughly examining each bill. He has given the first priority to the Common Recruitment Board bill.

Tamilisai said that he had spread the word that he was stopping the recruitment bill in universities. The governor revealed that he is demanding the government to fill the vacant posts.
