Hyderabad: Secunderabad Cantonment MLA G. Sayanna’s funeral should be conducted with official formalities, the followers have expressed concern. Sayanna’s followers stopped the funeral for a while in the graveyard itself. The protestors came down at the request of the family members. Later Sayanna’s last rites were performed.
Secunderabad Cantonment MLA Sayanna passed away yesterday due to ill health. The last rites are scheduled to take place at Mared Pally Cemetery on Monday. After Sayanna’s dead body was brought to Mared Palli crematorium in the evening, his followers became agitated. They demanded that the funeral be conducted with official ceremonies.
It was decided to conduct the funeral with official ceremonies. They protested against the funeral. Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Mallareddy tried to please Sayanna’s followers. Yet they did not listen.

Deputy Speaker Padmarao Goud tried to please Sayanna’s followers. However, they did not listen. Sayanna’s followers decided that they would stop the protest only if they were assured that the last rites would be carried out with official ceremonies.
After this, the police spoke to Sayanna’s family members. He asked to see that the situation does not escalate. Sayanna’s family members discussed with Sayanna’s followers. He asked for help in organizing the funeral. The protestors called off the agitation at the request of Sayanna’s family members. Darimila’s last rites have been hindered.

The police have told Sayanna’s followers that it will take time to conduct the funeral with official formalities. Requested to cooperate in this matter.
