Meghalaya Elections: As the Meghalaya Assembly elections are approaching, political parties are intensifying their aggressive announcements. Rahul Gandhi, who campaigned on behalf of the Congress, targeted the Trinamool Congress led by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. After that, Congress attacked TMC again. On Thursday (February 23), this time the general secretary of the party, Jairam Ramesh, was targeted.
If the party led by Mamata Banerjee wants to pull it together.. it should stop trying to break the Congress leaders and join them. Jairam Ramesh said that all the parties involved in the alliance to be formed against the BJP should raise their voices openly against the policy and intentions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In order to form an opposition alliance, the Congress stressed that it is imperative that all the participating parties raise their voice clearly against the intentions and policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi without any fear, compromise or hesitation.
Speaking at a press conference organized before the 85th plenary session of the Congress, General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that Congress is the only party that is raising its voice against the Prime Minister and his government. He said that Congress is fighting hard with BJP in Tripura. He said that BJP is the main enemy of Congress-Left alliance in Tripura.
He said that the TMC is questioning whether the Congress has the ability to defeat the BJP.. He said that his party is fighting with the TMC in Meghalaya as well as Tripura. He said TMC in Meghalaya is nothing but people who left Congress and joined TMC. So if the TMC is so serious about working with the Congress, they should stop hunting the Congress, he said.
The same attempt was made in Goa.. it failed miserably. He said TMC always fails in its efforts to move forward. Talking about the unity of the opposition, he said that only when the Congress gets stronger, the work will get stronger. He said a positive joint program is needed for the alliance in 2024. He said that it is necessary to form an alliance with a negative agenda.
