The Allahabad High Court has called for declaring the cow as the national animal. It said that the central government should take an effective decision to prevent cow slaughter. A single bench of Justice Shamim Ahmed made the remarks while dismissing the plea of the accused, who is facing charges under the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act.

According to legal news website Live Law, the Principal District Judge of Tapi District issued an order in November that if cow slaughter is stopped, all problems on the land will be solved.

Principal District Judge Sameer Vinodchandra Vyas also said that houses made of cow dung are immune to nuclear radiation and science has proved that cow urine is a cure for many incurable diseases.
