The flight from Calicut to Dammam was diverted to Thiruvananthapuram airport on suspicion of hydraulic failure. The flight landed safely in Thiruvananthapuram today afternoon after dumping the flight fuel in the Arabian Sea.

New Delhi: A full emergency was declared at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in the capital of Kerala on Friday. The flight from Calicut to Dammam was diverted to Thiruvananthapuram due to hydraulic failure. It is in this context that an emergency has been declared at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
The diverted flight to Thiruvananthapuram landed safely at the airport around 12.15 pm. It is noteworthy that there were 182 passengers in the flight.
According to some reliable sources, the tail of the Air India Express IX385 flight from Calicut to Dammam hit the runway during take-off. The incident took place at the Calicut International Airport this morning.

The flight took off. However, it is suspected that the hydraulic failure occurred due to the tail touching the runway. The fuel from the flight was dumped in the Arabian Sea to prevent an explosion and to minimize the severity if one did occur. After that the flight landed safely at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
Due to this, Thiruvananthapuram airport management declared full emergency.
