The CBI told the court that they want to hand over Manish Sisodia to their custody for proper investigation. The organization said that the Delhi Deputy CM did not answer properly during the question and answer session. The CBI told the court that Sisodia had exchanged mobile phones. Alleging that there was a scam in the implementation of the now-cancelled Delhi Excise Policy 2021-2022, it said the policy margin was changed and the eligibility criteria changed.
Meanwhile, ‘The Indian Express’ reported that senior advocates Dayan Krishnan and Rahul Mehra heard arguments on behalf of Sisodia. Manish Sisodia’s counsel argued that his client’s failure to explain the reason for the changes in the excise policy was not the reason for the remand. The reasons given by the CBI to Mand are not legally acceptable.
AAP has started nationwide protests against the arrest of Manish Sisodia. A protest was held outside the BJP headquarters at Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Marg. At this time there was a tense situation. On this occasion, the leaders of that party clashed with the paramilitary forces. AAP supporters were arrested. The staff resorted to baton charge to disperse them.
Aam Aadmi Party supporters tried to march towards the BJP office. With this, the police personnel were deployed. Barricades were put up to prevent them from moving forward. But they decided not to go back from there. When they insisted on trying to climb the barricades, the police intervened and arrested many of them. They pushed them into buses. Police brought 10-15 buses to transport the protestors. Meanwhile, AAP leaders held protests in Bhopal and Chandigarh.
CBI has repeatedly questioned Manish Sisodia, who is managing the Finance, Excise and Education departments in Delhi. On Sunday too, she was interrogated for more than 8 hours and arrested. Sisodia became the second Delhi minister to be arrested after Satyender Jain. But the Aam Aadmi Party said his arrest was an attack on the Delhi model of governance. Meanwhile, the BJP alleged that there is no corruption behind the event management and that the money earned by the party through a flawed scheme was used for a massive campaign in Punjab.
