Sensations are being registered in the Pakistan Cricket League (PSL). Four days ago, in the Peshawar Zalmi – Quetta Gladiators match, Quetta broke the highest target in PSL, but now in another match, Peshawar Zalmi is facing a huge defeat. In the match against Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi scored 242 runs but Multan batsmen chased down the target with five balls remaining. South African batsman Riley Rousseau (playing for Multan Sultans) recorded the fastest century in PSL.
In the match held at Rawalpindi, Peshawar scored 242 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The captain of the team Babar Azam (73 off 39 balls, 9 fours, 2 sixes) along with Saib Ayub (58 off 33 balls, 5 fours, 4 sixes) added 14 runs for the first wicket. Mohammad Haris (35) and Kohler (38) who came in one down excelled. As a result, the team set a huge target against Multan.
Meanwhile, Multan was hit by double shocks in order to achieve a huge target. Openers Shaan Masood (5) and Mohammad Rizwan (7) joined the pavilion soon after. But Riley Russo (121 off 51 balls, 12 fours, 8 sixes) who came in one down was a hero. His century was completed in 41 balls. Thus, Rupo became the record player who scored a century in the fewest balls in the PSL.
Rousseau added 99 runs for the third wicket along with Kieron Pollard (52 off 25 balls, 3 fours, 5 sixes). Later Pollard left but Rousseau stayed till the end. Multan Sultans lost wickets quickly in the middle. Tim David (2) and Khushdil (18) failed. But at the end Anwar Ali (24 not out in 8 balls, 2 fours, 2 sixes) and Usman Mir (11 in 3 balls, 1 four, 1 six) did not miss Peshawar Zalmi’s defeat. As a result, Multan scored 244 runs in 19.1 overs and got a wonderful victory. With this win, Multan has qualified for the playoffs. Even if Peshawar wins all the matches after Zalmi, it will be difficult to reach the playoffs.
The massive total by Zalmi failed to secure them the sought-after victory because razor-sharp Rossouw stood tall for the Sultans 👏 #SabSitarayHumaray l #HBLPSL8 l #PZvMS pic.twitter.com/thbTKL3Q2X

It is known that Quetta Gladiators also defeated Peshawar three days ago. In this match, Peshawar scored 240 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. But Quetta achieved the huge target in 18.2 overs. With Jayson Roy (145) and Mohammad Hafeez (41) being brilliant, Quetta became the team that successfully broke the huge target in the PSL.
