Bhubaneswar: DRDO officer arrested for sharing secret information with Pakistani spy. Sources have revealed that the 57-year-old DRDO officer is working at the DRDO Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Odisha, accused of sharing secret information related to the Indian defense sector with a Pakistani spy.

Sexual Gratification, DRDO Official Arrest: A senior official of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) was arrested on Friday for sharing secret information related to the Indian defense sector with a Pakistani spy, Odisha police said. He is working at DRDO Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, Balasore District, Odisha.
Chandipur has two DRDO test ranges namely PXE (Proof and Experimental Establishment) and ITR. It is at these two ranges that India assesses the performance of its missile, rocket and air defense systems. However, a senior employee of ITR-Chandipur was arrested. Inspector General of Police (Eastern Range) Himanshu Kumar Lal said that sensitive information related to the missile tests was passed on to a foreign agent. According to the complaint in Chandipur police station, the officer was arrested.
Balasore SP Sagarika Nath said that the matter is being investigated and the details of the information shared by him will be known after a full investigation. A case has been registered against him under IPC Sections 120A and 120B (criminal conspiracy) and the Official Secrets Act, police said. Police said he was sharing sensitive security information with a Pakistani agent for sexual and financial gain.
WhatsApp chats, obscene photos and videos were found on the mobile phone of the accused and they were seized, he said. Meanwhile, in September 2021, five contract employees from ITR-Chandipur were arrested in another espionage case. In 2015, a contract worker from ITR-Chandipur was arrested in a similar case. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2021 for sharing information with Pakistan’s ISI.
