Another earthquake occurred in Turkey-Syria. Its intensity was recorded as 6.3 on the Richter scale. The European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported that a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck at a depth of two km (1.2 miles) in the Turkey-Syria border region. Earlier on February 6, powerful tremors were felt in Turkey and neighboring Syria. Its intensity was recorded as 7.8 on the Richter scale. Even after a day or two there were several mild tremors. The death toll from the powerful earthquake exceeded 45,000. In such circumstances, the fear of the people intensified due to the occurrence of earthquake once again.
India sends rescue team to help Turkey-Syria The team returned after completing the rescue operation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met and spoke to him on Monday. India launched ‘Operation Dost’ to help Turkey and Syria. External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that the last team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has returned from Turkey. Bagchi tweeted that the last NDRF team sent to Turkey under Operation Dost has returned. 151 jawans and three dog squad teams worked in earthquake affected areas of Turkey.
