Before the assembly elections, Aditya Thackeray, leader of Uddhav Thackeray’s group, challenged CM Shinde. After the split in Shiv Sena, the fight between the two factions has not stopped till now. Aditya Thackeray, leader of Uddhav Thackeray’s faction, challenged Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Aditya Thackeray said that if he has guts and courage, he should contest assembly elections against me. Aditya Thackeray is the son of Shiv Sena President Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (Uddhav faction) Uddhav Thackeray.

Unconstitutional Chief Minister

Aditya Thackeray said, “I challenge the unconstitutional Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to contest the elections against me.” Interestingly, Aditya Thackeray was also a minister in the Mahavikas Aghadi government. Ever since Shiv Sena split into two factions, Aditya Thackeray has been attacking the rebel faction.

CM Shinde should contest against me from Worli: Aditya

Aditya Thackeray said in a public meeting that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde considers him a very popular leader. So if you have courage, I challenge you to contest against me from Worli. Uddhav faction leader Sanjay Raut also surrounded CM Shinde. Raut said that the Chief Minister considers himself a great revolutionary. The 32-year-old is challenging him to contest the elections ahead of him. So CM Shinde should take up this challenge and contest against Aditya.

It is significant that Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde took oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister on 30 June 2021 last year. At that time many Shiv Sena MLAs led by CM Shinde rebelled against Thackeray and withdrew their support. After this Uddhav Thackeray lost his majority due to which his government fell in the state. After coming out of MVA, Shinde allied with Bharatiya Janata Party. Since then, two factions of the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra have been at loggerheads over who is the rightful successor to Balasaheb Thackeray’s legacy.

Assembly elections will be held in 9 states of India this year. It includes Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Telangana, Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Mizoram. So next year in 2024 there are Assembly elections in Maharashtra along with Lok Sabha elections.
