Leaders of the student unions have started agitating today to revoke the recognition of Sri Chaitanya College, which caused Satvik’s death. Students staged a dharna in front of Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy.

Hyderabad: Student unions protested at Telangana Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy’s residence on Thursday. On the other hand, ABVP protested in front of the Inter Board.
Satvik, an inter student of Narsingi Sri Chaitanya College, committed suicide on the night of February 28 this year. The student unions started agitation demanding cancellation of the recognition of Sri Chaitanya College which was responsible for this incident. The SFI and PDSU student unions today laid siege to Minister Sabita Indra Reddy’s residence in Banjara Hills Srinagar Colony, Hyderabad. The student union leaders tried to enter the minister’s residence. But the police stopped them. Student union leaders were arrested.
ABVP besieged Inter Board office. ABVP has demanded action against the management of Sri Chaitanya College. ABVP staged a protest on the road in front of the Inter Board office.
Student unions protested in front of Narsingi Sri Chaitanya College yesterday as well. In his suicide letter, Satvik mentioned that the faculty and staff of the college used to harass him. In this letter some names were mentioned to Satwiki. The police have arrested the people mentioned in Satvik’s suicide letter. Police have registered a case on Satvik’s suicide incident. The police have registered cases against the staff working in the college as well as the college management.

The parents alleged that Satwik was beaten up by the college lecturers in the past as well. The parents recalled that Satvik was on bed rest for 15 days after being beaten by the lecturers. Satvik’s parents demanded that action should be taken against those responsible for Satvik’s suicide. With this demand, they protested in front of the college yesterday.
