Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor on Monday lashed out at the food served on an Air India flight. Chef Sanjeev Kapoor complained about the meal on Twitter saying that he was dissatisfied with the food served on the Air India flight coming from Nagpur to Mumbai. The chef alleged that he was served cold chicken tikka with watermelon, cucumber, a sandwich with miniscule filling and a sugar syrup dessert.
Sharing pictures of the meal on Twitter, he wrote, “Wake up @airindiain. Nagpur-Mumbai 0740 flight. Watermelon, cucumber, tomato, grilled cold chicken tikka, thinly sliced cabbage, mayo smothered sandwich, sweetened cream, sugar syrup sponge painted with yellow glaze,” said the first tweet. And in the second tweet, “Really!!! Is this what Indians should eat for breakfast?” he asked. It was tagged to Air India.
Hours after Sanjeev Kapoor’s tweet, Air India responded to the tweet. “Sir, your opinion is very important to us. We are constantly upgrading our services. From tomorrow these services will be provided by our partners Taj Sats, Ambassador. Trust me you will have a good experience with onboard food!” he tweeted. However, this tweet angered many Twitter users.
One customer responded to the tweet, saying, “That’s weird what you’re saying. Serving cool food with strange combos. Will tata group look into it and improve it.. never book food in flight. Eat before or after travel. At least a hot, healthy meal can be eaten. The coffee/tea on the plane is also terrible. Water is also served cold… I carry my own flask. After check-in I refill water at water kiosks. They wrote that.
Last month, a woman complained that she found a stone in the food she was served. A Twitter user named Sarvapriya Sangwan shared two photos of her meal on Air India Flight 215, showing a stone in her meal.
In a tweet, she tagged Air India and said, “You don’t need resources or money to serve food without stones Air India (@airindiain). This is what I received in my food served on AI 215 flight today. This kind of negligence is not acceptable.
