Going into details.. There has been a demand for the Women’s Reservation Bill for a long time. But no progress has been made in this regard. In this order, Kavita will go on a one-day hunger strike in Delhi, the capital of the country. Many political parties have already supported her initiation. People’s organizations and women’s organizations will be involved, said the concerned sections. Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s daughter Kavitha will lead the protest under the auspices of Bharat Jagruti, a charity organization demanding the introduction of the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament.
This bill was first introduced in 1996 to reserve one-third of the seats in the Lok Sabha and state legislatures for women. After that it was introduced many times. The bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha in 2010, but was repealed after the dissolution of the 15th Lok Sabha in 2014. The bill has not moved forward since then. Leaders of several opposition parties along with the Congress will participate in the Kavita Diksha on Friday. BRS has invited women’s organizations and various political parties in 29 states to participate in this protest.
Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee, NCP led by Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray, Akali Dal, JDU led by Nitish Kumar, RJD led by Lalu Prasad Yadav, Samajwadi Party led by Akhilesh Yadav, CPM and CPI will participate in this protest. In this protest led by Kavitha, Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP, National Conference, PDP, JMM and some independent MPs will also participate, according to the relevant sections. Kavita has already reached Delhi.
However, before the initiation, the war of words between BJP and BRS reached its climax when the ED issued a notice to Kavita in the Delhi Madhyam policy case. With this Telangana politics has heated up once and for all. BRS has accused the BJP of sending investigation agencies to the opposition leaders as a political party. Kavitha responded that Telangana will always cooperate with the inquiry. BRS criticized that ED notices were sent to Kavita as part of political conspiracy.
