New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday issued important directives on the EC appointment system. The High Court struck down the appointment of the existing Election Commissioners. The Supreme Court ordered that a committee consisting of the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition and the CJI should be appointed.
