As expected, Telugu Desam Party gave a twist in the MLA Kota MLC election in Andhra Pradesh. The candidate was fielded on behalf of his party. Panchumurthy Anuradha filed his nomination as the TDP candidate for MLA Kota MLC election on Monday. TDP leaders Butchaiah Chaudhary, Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, Adireddy Bhavani and others participated in this program. Anuradha, who is the state general secretary of TDP, previously worked as the mayor of Vijayawada.

It is known that elections will be held for 7 MLC seats in AP under MLA quota. The tenure of seven MLCs, including Nara Lokesh, will end on March 29. This made the election for 7 MLC seats inevitable. In this regard, the Election Commission issued a notification on March 6. The Election Commission has stated that March 13 is the deadline for receipt of nominations, 14th for scrutiny of nominations and 16th for withdrawal of nominations. If election is inevitable then polling will be held on 23rd March. The results will be announced on the same day.

It is known that the ruling YCP has already announced the candidates for this election. With this, YCP candidates Penumatsa Suryanarayana Raju, Kola Gurus, Israel, Marri Rajasekhar, Jayamangalam Venkata Ramana, Potula Sunitha and Chandragiri Yesuratnam have already filed their nomination. However, it is known that YCP has a huge strength in the assembly. Everyone thought that the selection of YCP candidates was a formality. However, Telugu Desam Party has fielded a candidate in this election. This broke the unanimous election of YCP candidates.

As part of the pressure on the rebels..!!
But by fielding the TDP candidate, Chandrababu seems to want to put pressure on the rebel MLAs of the party. While TDP won 23 seats in the 2018 assembly elections, Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Chirala MLA Karanam Balaram, Visakha South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh and Guntur West MLA Maddala Giri left the party. They are supporting YCP. However, the TDP thinks that the MLA Kota MLC election should field a TDP candidate and issue a whip during the election. Also, Chandrababu’s strategy seems to be to consult with the disaffected people in YCP.
