It is known that elections will be held for 7 MLC seats under MLA quota in Andhra Pradesh. The tenure of seven MLCs, including Nara Lokesh, will end on March 29. This made the election for 7 MLC seats inevitable. In this regard, the Election Commission issued a notification on March 6. The Election Commission has stated that March 13 is the deadline for receipt of nominations, 14th for scrutiny of nominations and 16th for withdrawal of nominations. If election is inevitable then polling will be held on 23rd March. The results will be announced on the same day.

It is known that the ruling YCP has already announced the candidates for this election. YCP candidates Penumatsa Suryanarayana Raju, Kola Gurus, Israel, Marri Rajasekhar, Jayamangalam Venkata Ramana, Potula Sunitha and Chandragiri Yesuratnam will file their nominations today. But it is known that YCP has a huge strength in the assembly. Everyone thought that the selection of YCP candidates was a formality.

However, it seems that the leader of that party, Chandrababu Naidu, is thinking of fielding a Telugu Desam Party candidate in this election. In this regard, Chandrababu Naidu is holding discussions with the main leaders of TDP. Will the MLC field the TDP candidate in the election? Or? There are chances of getting clarity either today or tomorrow. If the TDP candidate is fielded, there is a possibility of breaking the unanimous election of YCP candidates.

However, Chandrababu hopes to put pressure on the party’s rebel MLAs by fielding the TDP candidate. While TDP won 23 seats in the 2018 assembly elections, Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Chirala MLA Karanam Balaram, Visakha South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh and Guntur West MLA Maddala Giri left the party. They are supporting YCP. However, it seems that TDP is planning to field a TDP candidate in the MLA Kota MLC election and issue a whip during the election. The TDP is thinking that if the four MLAs who are away from the party violate the whip, they can file a complaint with the EC.

Also, Chandrababu’s strategy seems to be to consult with the disaffected people in YCP. It is reported that the party leadership is thinking of trying their best whether the TDP candidate wins or not. However, Chandrababu is likely to issue a decision after consulting with the party’s key leaders in this regard.
