MLC election referendum is like a slap in the face to Vaikapa government: TDP leader Somireddy

TDP senior leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy: Former minister, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) YSR district in-charge Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should avoid cruel politics and rule the state properly. The TDP won the elections for three graduate MLC seats in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council. She won in North Andhra, East Rayalaseema and West Rayalaseema constituencies. In this sequence, TDP senior leaders Somireddy responded and criticized CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He said that the results of the MLC elections make it clear that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has lost the trust of the people and the same scene will be repeated in the upcoming 2024 general elections. He said that the state is not jagir to Jagan, people know well how the government works. He commented that the people will teach a suitable lesson to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the appropriate time. He recalled that Jaganmohan Reddy had previously said that he would win a total of 175 seats in the next election and rule without opposition. But Somireddy criticized Vaikapa in the coming elections.

Dhima expressed that TDP will win 155 seats in 2024 elections. Josyam said that YSRCP will play the role of opposition in the next elections. He said that the people of 108 assembly segments have exercised their right to vote against the YCP government in the current MLC elections. He said that this verdict is like a slap in the face to the YCP government, which has been adopting anti-people policies in the last four years. Somireddy said that he will come back to power and provide better governance.

On the other hand, TDP won the elections for three graduate MLC seats in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council. It won in North Andhra, East Rayalaseema and West Rayalaseema constituencies. TDP candidate Bhumi Reddy Ramgopal Reddy won West Rayalaseema with a margin of 7,543 votes over YCP candidate Vennapusa Ravindra Reddy. Telugu Desam Party MLC candidate Kancharla Srikanth won from East Rayalaseema. Also, TDP candidate Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao won a huge victory in the place of Uttarandhra graduates. TDP candidate Chiranjeevi Rao secured 90 percent of the votes required for victory in the first preference.
