Air India Flight:An Air India flight departing from New York City in America to Delhi was diverted to the British capital London due to an onboard medical emergency. An Air India official told news agency ANI that AI-102, which was traveling from New York to New Delhi, was diverted to London due to a medical emergency on board. Our ground staff at Heathrow were alerted. Preparations are being made to take the person concerned to the hospital.
A day earlier, an Air India Express flight from Dubai sought help from the airport in Thiruvananthapuram after the pilot encountered some problems during landing. Airport sources told PTI that the pilot experienced some discomfort during landing and sought help from ATC. It was a normal landing with a scheduled arrival time of 6.30 pm. There was also a problem with the Air India Express flight.
The pilot did not declare any emergency. He said that when the Air India Express flight IX540 was inspected after landing, it was found that the top layer of one of the wheels in the nose gear of the aircraft was de-capped.
Bomb threat to IndiGo flight
An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Devgarh was diverted to Lucknow due to a bomb threat. The plane was cleared to take off after the threatening call turned out to be rumours. The airline said in a statement that all necessary safety protocols were followed and the flight was cleared for take-off. IndiGo is following the norms of security agencies in the investigation.
Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport said the plane landed safely at 12:20 pm and was shifted to an isolation bay. Airport security conducted necessary checks to confirm the threat and after due checks the aircraft was cleared for onward journey.
