Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal: The Congress once again lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Center led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Force Directorate (ED) strongly condemned the raids on the houses and offices of Congress leaders in Chhattisgarh in connection with the coal scam case. Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said that they are not afraid of anyone in this order while referring to the raids by investigative agencies in Chhattisgarh. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP not to think that Congress is afraid of ED and CBI.
Congress general secretary KC Venugopal has accused the BJP of misusing the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the wake of multiple attacks on party leaders in Chhattisgarh. They are not afraid of anyone. We will follow Indian laws. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party should not think that Congress is afraid of ED and CBI. KC Venugopal made it clear that we will fight according to Indian laws. He said that these attacks are nothing but an achievement of a political party by the BJP and there is nothing unusual in this. He criticized that wherever the Congress is, central investigation agencies including ED will come. Everyone in India knows about it, he said. He said BJP will not succeed in intimidating them by misusing ED and CBI.
He said that everyone is watching what kind of drama they are playing before the Congress plenary sessions. They (BJP) thought they would be afraid, but now they are confused, said Venugopal. Venugopal came to Raipur to inspect the arrangements for the 85th Congress plenary session to be held in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh from 24th to 26th of this month. He made these comments while talking to the media. Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav, Bilaigarh MLA Chandradev Prasad Roy, state Congress treasurer and chairmen of state-owned corporations are being targeted by the ED in Chhattisgarh in connection with the coal scam case.
