The opposition has insisted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should respond to the criticism leveled at the Adani Group. It is in this context that the Prime Minister, speaking on the motion of thanks for the President’s speech, singled out the scams that took place during the Congress regime.

New Delhi: Ever since the Hindenburg report came out, Adani group companies have become the topic of discussion across the country. From economic concerns, it has become a political challenge for the central government. The fact that Prime Minister Modi and Adani are both Gujaratis and that Rahul Gandhi has been accusing Modi of working with Adani for the benefit of Adani has intensified the debate on the latest report. The opposition parties are demanding that a joint parliamentary committee should be set up to investigate the ‘Adani Scam(?)’ and the investigation should be conducted under the supervision of the Supreme Court. They insisted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should break his silence on this episode and respond in Parliament. Recently, the Prime Minister while speaking on the motion of thanks for the President’s speech mentioned scams.
At a time when the opposition is demanding to talk about the ‘Adani Scam(?)’ in the Parliament, Prime Minister Modi, while addressing the Lok Sabha today, singled out the scams that took place during the Congress regime. He mentioned 2G scam, coal mining scam, Otuku Notu, Commonwealth Games scam. He also mentioned the defense scams during the Congress government. The period of Congress rule from 2004 to 2014 was called ‘The Lost Decade’.

PM Modi said that between 2004 and 2014, the highest number of corruption cases were registered in the history of independent India. Moreover, it is during this period that terrorist forces have risen. It was explained that in those ten years, India had lost its hold on the international arena.
