New Delhi: The Supreme Court has directed the authorities to remove the mosque in the Allahabad High Court. Three months time was given for that. The petitions filed against the demolition of this mosque were dismissed. The Supreme Court held that the structure was located in an area where the property lease had been cancelled. Therefore, it is not appropriate to ask for it to continue as such, it explained. The Waqf Masjid High Court on Monday dismissed the petitions filed by the UP Sunni Central Waqf Boards.

Allahabad gave a verdict in November 2017 to move the mosque located in the premises of Allahabad High Court to another place. It was given three months.

A bench of Justices MR Shah and CT Ravikumar heard the latest. However, it has given an opportunity to ask the UP government to ask for the land required to shift the mosque to another area.

We are granting three months time to demolish this structure. We are giving permission to move the mosque to another place and build it there in three months from today. We are giving an opportunity to the High Court authorities to either remove it or demolish it’, the tribunal said recently.
