CM Arvind Kejriwal said that CBI Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia is likely to be arrested on Sunday in the liquor policy scam case. He said that he has received information in this regard.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has claimed that his sources have confirmed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will arrest Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who has been summoned for CBI inquiry in the Delhi Liquor Excise Policy case. Speaking at the second edition of ABP Network’s ‘Ideas of India’ Summit, Kejriwal said, “CBI has called Manish Sisodia for investigation. According to reliable sources, he will be arrested on Sunday… This is very sad,” he said.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the CBI raided Sisodia’s residence and checked the bank lockers, but nothing was found. CBI has raided Manish Sisodia. They checked his bank accounts, his house and his lockers. His office was attacked. The properties in his village were raided. But nothing was found,” said the CM.

Kejriwal alleged that there is a conspiracy to implicate such a person in a false case and defame him. He questioned how the country will progress if he is arrested in a false case and put in jail. A king of a country said that if the people who provide education to the children of the poor in that country are jailed and the whole country is handed over to two or four friends, how will the country develop? Kejriwal said that he first met Sisodia on December 29, 1999 when he was working in the Income Tax Department.
Sisodia said last Monday that the CBI had summoned him for questioning on February 26 in connection with the Delhi Liquor Excise Policy case. Meanwhile, the CBI has ordered Sisodia to attend the hearing on 19th of this month. Sisodia last Sunday requested the Central Investigation Agency to postpone the investigation saying that he is currently preparing the budget and will be able to attend the hearing only at the end of February.

However, Sisodia was not named as an accused in the charge sheet filed in the case. Seven accused including arrested businessmen Vijay Nair and Abhishek have been included in the charge sheet. In connection with this case, the CBI inspected the locker of Sisodia Bank in August last year. Meanwhile, the Deputy CM stated that no evidence was found in his locker.
