Three people, including a woman, were arrested in Kashmir Valley in connection with this case. All three were caught in the raids on Tuesday (February 21). SIA said that these three have been found to have smuggled 24 kg of drugs worth crores of rupees from Pakistan.
The state investigation agency said in a statement that this search operation was carried out with the aim of completely destroying the financial spheres of terrorist organizations and their central system and support structure. Officials said that as part of this, searches were conducted in many areas of Anantnag, Pulwama, Budgam and Baramulla districts. Those who are selling illegal drugs and those who are part of this network will take strict action.

Officials said searches were conducted at 4 premises of suspected narco-terrorists in different districts of Kashmir on Tuesday. These include Abdul Rashid Bhat in Padgampora Awantipora, Danish Farooq in Nasrullapora Budgam, Abdul Rashid Mir in Amargarh Sopore and Hardu Akkad residential premises. Also, searches were conducted in the residential complex of Owais Gul Bhat in Anantnag. The relevant departments have revealed that the Narco-Terror Module has identified so far in the investigation in this case. The Jammu and Kashmir State Investigation Agency (SIA) found that it was being carried out on behalf of banned terrorist organizations across the border with handlers based in the Central Jail, Srinagar.
Use of money to promote terrorism
The probe agency said investigations so far have revealed that the syndicate was successful in smuggling 24 kg of narcotics worth crores of rupees from Pakistan. They were transported to different places with the help of human couriers and sold to dealers. Drug proceeds are also used for personal financial gains and to support terrorist activities in the Valley. Reports suggest that more arrests are likely in the coming days.
Meanwhile, reports state that drug smuggling is increasing in the border areas in recent times. Officials have found that drugs are being supplied mainly from Pakistan. Security forces have found that smugglers are using drones for this.
