It is known that the 85th Plenary Session of the Congress Party is currently going on in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Many resolutions were approved on the second day of the plenary on Saturday. But at the time of political resolutions in the Congress plenary, the issue of special status for Andhra Pradesh was also mentioned. The Congress has announced that it will restore special status to the states of North-East, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. With this, the Congress party made it clear in the plenary stage that their party is committed to give special status to AP.

What is in the draft resolution.. “Hill states are facing challenges related to development. Those states need additional support. Revoking the “Special Category” status that provided this support would harm the interests of North East, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Congress will restore special status to North Eastern states, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Congress is also committed to give special status to the state of Andhra Pradesh.

The Congress party has been making it clear on several occasions that they are committed to giving special status to Andhra Pradesh… and will fulfill that promise if they come to power. Rahul also made this clear during the Bharat Jodo Yatra recently. He said that the Congress party will surely fulfill all the promises made to Andhra Pradesh in 2014.

Congress party is committed to provide special status to Andhra Pradesh and develop a single capital at Amaravati. We are reminding the promises made to the people of Andhra Pradesh in 2014 in the Parliament. These are not promises made by one party. Given to the people of Andhra Pradesh by Parliament. We intend to fulfill these promises fully and speedily. Both the central and state governments have failed in this matter,” said Rahul Gandhi.
