Prime Minister Modi recalled the 2001 Bhuj earthquake that claimed thousands of lives in Gujarat when the earthquake created tragedy in Turkey and Syria.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the humanitarian assistance provided by the Government of India to the earthquake affected areas. He commented that he knows what kind of situation Turkey is currently facing.

Also, the series of earthquakes that occurred in Turkey and Syria left a deep tragedy. Many countries are sending emergency aid. India has come forward to help Turkey, which is facing dire conditions due to the calamity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already promised to provide all possible assistance to Turkey. In this order, the NDRF search and rescue teams left for Turkey with the first batch of relief equipment. Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, posted the related photos and videos on social media.

Responding to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s tweet on the earthquake, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of life and property. He assured that India will cooperate in all ways to deal with this situation. Deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. Wishing the injured a speedy recovery. He said that India stands in solidarity with the people of Turkey.
