Road accident: Four passengers from Bihar were killed and 28 others were injured in a bus overturn in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The incident took place on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in Barsoo area of south Kashmir district. After receiving the information about this accident, the Bihar government has said that it will stand by the families of the deceased. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that Rs 2 lakh ex gratia will be given to the families of the deceased in the wake of the road accident.

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir condoled the victims of the bus accident. LG Manoj Sinha expressed shock over this accident. He expressed grief that precious lives were lost and many were injured in the bus accident in Awantipora. He said that orders have been issued to the district administration to provide all necessary assistance to the victims. The Lieutenant Governor said that he expresses his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured.
I am deeply anguished by the unfortunate bus accident in Awantipora today, in which precious lives have been lost and many others have been injured. I have issued instructions to the District Administration to provide all necessary assistance to the affected persons.
