Tragedy in Gorakhpur.. An angry elephant, three died..


A tragedy occurred in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. An elephant that was brought for the Kalash Yatra got upset. It created a lot of trouble. In this order, there was a stampede. Three people died in this incident. Many were injured. The injured were sent to the hospital for first aid. After the incident, the program was cancelled. CM Yogi announced an aid of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

According to the police and locals, a Lakshminarayana Mahayagna was organized from February 16 to 24 in Mafi village of Jagatbela in Gorakhpur Chiluwatal area of ​​Uttar Pradesh. As part of this programme, the Kalash Yatra is scheduled to start at 1.30 pm on the first day. Women participated in large scale to fetch water for Kalash Yatra. On this occasion, more than a thousand people came for the trip. However.. for this program.. specially two elephants and two camels were brought on rent.
 
In this order, people gathered to see the elephant and take pictures with it. In this order some brats started teasing the elephant. The elephant got angry at their arrogance and started running here and there. There was a stampede there. Kanti Devi (55) and Kaushalya Devi (50) were thrown to the ground and trampled by the elephant. Then ran towards the farm. At this time Kausalya Devi’s grandson Krishna (4) was also on her lap. Kausalya took her sick grandson on her lap to worship the elephant, but the elephant lost its life along with Kausalya and the innocent child.

According to the details of the villagers, after receiving the information about the incident, the police and forest department officials reached the spot at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. At first the mahout tried to control the elephant but could not control it. Later, the forest department team gave a shot with a tranquilizer gun to control the elephant. After a while the elephant calmed down and sat on the ground. It is said that the elephant was taken into custody around 6.30 pm.
