While digging the foundation for the construction of a house in Uttar Pradesh, a jeweled iron plate was unearthed. The worker who was working on the foundation fell on the bed. The box was taken out and opened and there were old coins and silver ornaments in it.

Lucknow: While digging the foundation of a house in Uttar Pradesh, a huge pile of jewelery was found. A laborer who was working on the foundation hit the leg of the box and almost fell down. Immediately examined it carefully. Later, it was taken out. When he opened the drawer, there were old coins and silver ornaments in it. Officials said on Sunday that the box itself has been handed over to the Archaeological Survey of India.
Officials explained that there were 279 coins in the iron box, which belonged to the period of 1862. Officials said that while digging the foundation of a house in Vyaspura village in Kotwali Jaline on Saturday, these coins and ornaments were unearthed and recovered.

Orai Deputy District Magistrate Rajesh Singh explained that under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana, land has been allotted to Kamlesh Kushwaha for a house. They said that the foundation for building a house was being dug at that place and while digging on Saturday, the ancient iron pot was found. It was explained that a worker who was working to remove the foundation fell on the container. He said that Rajesh Singh immediately called the archaeological officers, brought them to the spot and handed over the ornaments and coins to them.
