YS Viveka murder case: High Court denied bail to Sunil


The Telangana High Court dismissed the bail petition filed by the accused Sunil Yadav in the murder case of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy.

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Monday dismissed the bail petition filed by the accused Sunil Yadav in the murder case of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy. The High Court ruled that bail cannot be granted as the case is under trial.

The High Court ruled that bail cannot be granted at this stage as the CBI is investigating the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. The High Court opined that the safety of witnesses and an impartial investigation are more important than the freedom of the accused.

Sunil Yadav, who is an accused in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case, filed a petition seeking bail on 13th of this month. A hearing was conducted on this bail petition today. YS Vivekananda Reddy’s wife Saubhagyamma impleaded on this petition. It is known that a petition was filed on 16th of this month.

The CBI has named Sunil Yadav as the key accused in the case. CBI has also asked Sunil Yadav not to be granted bail at this time. On the other hand, the counsel for the petitioner argued that Sunil Yadav should be granted bail. However, the Telangana High Court has decided that Sunil Yadav cannot be granted bail.

On the night of March 19, 2019, YS Vivekanam Reddy was killed by thugs in Pulivendulu. Chandrababu Naidu was the CM at the time of this murder. Chandrababu Sarkar set up SIT. The Jagan government that came to power after that also set up the SIT. YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter YS Sunitha Reddy, TDP MLC BTech Ravi and former minister Adinarayana Reddy have filed petitions to investigate this case with CBI. The AP High Court, which inquired into these petitions, ordered a CBI investigation.
