TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president Nara Chandrababu Naidu criticized the YSRCP government. Referring to the Gannavaram incident, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy lashed out at the government. He called upon the people to fight together to save the state from YSRCP atrocities and destructive rule. Chandrababu stated that Vaikapa rule is destroying the state. He strongly condemned the attack on TDP leaders and office in Gannavaram.
In an open letter written to the people of the state, Chandrababu Naidu stated that the atrocities of the ruling YCP are increasing day by day and the dictatorial tendency of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is causing great disruption to democracy. He said that the state government is resorting to violent measures for questioning the undemocratic tendencies of the ruling party. He accused them of making false cases and attacking opposition leaders. The latest example of this is the brutality in Gannavaram, where TDP leaders were severely tortured and their properties were completely destroyed, he said. Chandrababu stated that he is writing this open letter to bring the facts to the public’s attention that the affected TDP leaders have been portrayed as the main accused and sent to jail.
Chandrababu expressed his concern that the property of the common man has not been secured under the current dictatorial regime. He alleged that the ruling party leaders are now illegally encroaching on the property of the poor, who have fought all their lives. He said that violence against women is increasing and the state has become a platform for the harassment of the poor and weaker sections. In an open letter, Chandrababu accused that he killed a doctor who asked for masks during the covid period and ruthlessly killed a Dalit youth who raised some questions about the state’s liquor policy. He opined that the aim of the Gannavaram violence was to suppress the voices of the downtrodden who were questioning the failures of the state government. Local YCP leaders committed vandalism on 20th of this month with the help of some police officers. It was alleged that false cases were filed against 40 TDP leaders and some of them were tortured in the police station.
Chandrababu alleged that his personal aide Orupalli Ranga Gannavaram, who is the prime accused in the Sankalpa Siddhi scandal, led the riots, while the MLA, who had defected to the YCP, conspired to carry out the attacks. In his letter he said, “The local MLA planned the Gannavaram attacks….His personal assistant, Orupalli Ranga, the prime accused in the Sankalpa Siddi scam, was at the forefront of the attacks. He was the accused in the Sankalpa Siddi scam, which illegally collected Rs. 1100 crores from people and cheated them. The whole incident was attacked. “Telugudesam activists, the office of Telugudesam party was destroyed, the burnt cars belonged to Telugudesam leaders, it was Telugudesam leaders who threatened and intimidated, it was Telugudesam who suffered police torture, the victims were Telugudesam… But it was Telugudesam who were finally put in jail on false charges by the police.”
Chandrababu Naidu said that now there is a struggle between democracy and dictatorship and people should come with him to save the state from this destruction.
